I had the pleasure of discovering Joane Cornell Fine Jewelry/GLINT. Joane Cornell has curated an eclectic, distinctive collection for jewelry lovers who value beautiful pieces that are beautifully made.  I came away with a ring and a pair of earrings, and I plan to take advantage of Joane’s creativity in designing future pieces expressly for me.

Recently I enlisted Joane’s expertise to repurpose two little-worn necklaces into a torsade. I’ll enjoy the new necklace for years to come. Additionally, I purchased a dramatic, statement-making tourmaline and diamond ring. I’ve never seen its like and have worn it with great pleasure. I’ve always said that anyone can wear mass-produced jewelry, and that’s fine, but the really special stuff is made by hand, by an inspired artist. Joane’s pieces are truly fabulous, made with heart and soul, incorporating stones of all kinds with precious metals that showcase their beauty by her talented hands.

My husband, Alan and I walked into Glint when we were taking a stroll through Chatham. Joane’s window with her creative pieces attracted us and drew us into the store. The first thing I fell in love with was Joane, herself…a warm and welcoming hostess! Her jewelry is exquisite and incredibly unique…definitely ‘one of a kind’ creations. The earrings I purchased just recently are my daily “go to” unless I need something silver. We were recently in California for a wedding, and I didn’t take any other earrings for a five-day adventure!

I discovered Joane Cornell/GLINT on-line, and I honestly cannot say enough about this warm, talented designer and artist! After a few email exchanges about an aquamarine pendant I hoped she would create for me, Joane was out hunting for the best possible stones and sending me videos of what she’d found. She wasn’t satisfied until she’d found just the right one. She was funny and gracious, and enthusiastically agreed when I asked if she could incorporate a second stone. She sent numerous sketches, and once we agreed on a final design, she kept me informed every step of the way. Yesterday, I received my pendant: an 18k gold bezel set teardrop cabochon aquamarine stone with a smaller faceted emerald (my two daughter’s birthstones). Words cannot do the pendant justice, from the quality of the stones and craftsmanship to the heft of the gold. More important is the obvious care that Joane put into making something just right for me.

Joane has a fine eye for design as well as the talent to realize those designs in her work. She is dedicated to producing wearable, beautifully crafted pieces that will delight and impress.

I was lucky enough to stumble upon Joane Cornell’s shop in Lenox, Mass many years ago. Once I entered, I was mesmerized by her incredibly beautiful and creative designs. I found a pair of earrings that I loved but wasn’t crazy about the direction of the stone and asked if she could reconfigure the design to my specifications. OF COURSE, she said. Within a week, the earrings were delivered to my home in NYC. She was in touch with me along the way and sent me a photo to approve prior to mailing. I held on to her information and about a year ago I contacted Joane (now in Chatham, NY) to see if she could reproduce a necklace by a well-known commercial jewelry designer in time for my birthday. OF COURSE, she said. We had multiple conversations over the phone and over email. Joane was determined to make sure I was getting exactly what I had asked for. The final product was gorgeous and truly a work of art. Her eye for detail and her commitment to make sure that she is satisfying her clients every step of the way, is what will surely have me returning again and again.
